ABSTRACT

The optimal cellular system to produce attenuated virus vaccine should have the following characteristics: ease and reproducibility of preparation, ability to produce virus at high titer, absence of latent viruses, and diploid chromosome complement.

At the present, primary monkey kidney is still the cellular system of choice but other systems appear to be promising.
